Senior Marketing & Insights Manager NWE
The role and its responsibilities
Working from the AkzoNobel Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, you are accountable for business intelligence across NWE, and responsible for best-in-class global insight processes in the NWE region.
As part of the regional marketing leadership team you lead cross-country/functional projects to scope and implement identified (regional) game changing opportunities. You are also part of a global insights team as you network with the larger insight community across regions, identifying and sharing best practices.
Thus you format strategy and guidelines, identifying customer risks and opportunities, and analyzing the competitive perspective for future growth. You also initiate and participate in business discussions to identify opportunities, develop relevant insights or identify knowledge gaps (both qualitatively and quantitatively).
Further, you envision and lead the synthesis of data across multiple sources to identify more macro-level themes and insights, translating and integrating this to business strategy. You also support and guide selected MSUs in a rigorous BPC (Business Planning Cycle) process and strategy development, and you drive the innovation and product life cycle management for the region.
All of this demands that you move multiple projects forward simultaneously, including the coordination of brand-health studies in NWE. In doing so you lead or participate in cross-functional project teams, communicating with Brand Directors, Marketing Director, Digital Director, and Sales Directors, as well as clusters and MSUs. You also interact with senior representatives of market research and retail panel agencies.
At all times you exhibit a strong focus on people development within the NWE Insights team, and you consistently improve capabilities and engagement in the indirect team.

- Master degree in a field such as Business Administration, Economics, Marketing;
- >10 years of work experience in marketing/brand/Insight or Strategic management positions;
- Proven ability to interpret market data, translate and communicate key learnings and insights into actionable business strategies and growth opportunities;
- Experience of working in a matrix and multinational organization, preferably including multi-country experience;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Strong communication skills including fluent written and spoken English.
