Main purpose of the role

  • Leads the understanding of shopper attitudes / behaviors and in-store conditions to identify growth opportunities for PepsiCo Benelux business
  • Brings voice of the shopper to business opportunities identification, provides business recommendations based on shopper and retail insights to enable decision making process and flawless execution of brand and sales AOP & SBP priorities

Accountabilities

Shopper Insights Foundations:

  • Drives Shopper Insights agenda in the organization, builds solid shopper understanding and foundations, making sure that Shopper Insights is a part of decision making process in the organization via leveraging retail and shopper insights into strategic and operational recommendations
  • Maintain accumulated Shopper knowledge and continuous Shopper data sources (HHP, retail panel etc.)
  • Leads on-going and ad-hoc shopper / retailer research addressing strategic business questions based on AOP/PSP
  • Translate data/research results into meaningful insights influencing business decisions
  • Drives learning through the organization to influence customer engagement and business strategy

Shopper & Retailer Trends

  • According to PSP and AOP agenda, drives the continuous evaluation of shopper and retail trends to identify growth opportunities, to build PepsiCo Benelux competitive advantage

Defining Strategic Shopper Opportunities

  • Identifies strategic Shopper opportunities by category and key customer. Transforms holistic data sources into actionable insights and knowledge that influences decisions:
  • Support Cat Man, Rev Mgt and Shopper MKT workstreams with in-depth Shopper & Retail insights, inputs and data (e.g. PPA, Cat. Vision, Shopper activation)
  • Drive Shopper and Customer focus throughout category planning and innovation processes
  • Identify key Shopper opportunities per each JBP customer & participate in JBP development

Trusted advisor

  • Secures the trusted advisor status, influence customers' strategic decisions and shopper agenda through F2F interaction

People management:

  • Elevate organizational capability through sharing best practice, training and acting as shopper ambassador. Lead training programs on the effective use of Shopper Insights tools and results to drive capability of Shopper insight understanding in the companyThird-Parties Management:
  • According to internal standards and procedures manages resources effectively to deliver strong business results, leads contract negotiations and maintains winning relationships with Research Institutes to ensure Company's interests are in place at the most beneficial level. Involves Research Institutes in internal workshops making them a strategic business partner to drive the highest level of quality and cost efficiency

Budgeting:

  • Based on internal standards and procedures prepares the Shopper Research budget to address the business needs, manages the budget in order to ensure that financial resources are allocated and spent accordingly

Profile

  • University degree. Master Degree in Business/Marketing/ Market Research/Sociology is preferable
  • 4-6 years Shopper Insights experience in a leading FMCG company (retailer or agency experience is a bonus).
  • Knowledge and practical experience with a wide scope of research methodologies and techniques (qualitative & quantitative)
  • Proven track record of activating Shopper Insights to achieve business impact
  • Understanding of analytical tools and knowledge of statistics
  • Experience in Household Panel data is a plus
  • Experience managing research Budget
  • Fluent English
  • MS Office - advanced user (PowerPoint, Excel
